Our results:

WTTS ACT Prep Course Students: We’ve had several students begin with us after earning ACT Composites of 15 and 16 and go on to earn scores in the high 20s and low-to-mid-30s. WTTS students frequently earn ACT composite scores of between 28-33. Amazingly, we’ve had several students earn ACT composite scores in the 34 to 36 range. That’s right, a perfect ACT Composite of 36!

WTTS SAT Prep Course Students: We’ve had several students begin with us after scoring as low as a combined 1125 on the SAT (Writing, Mathematics, Critical Reading). Incredibly, the very same students have gone on to earn combined scores in the 1700-2350 range. We’re still working on our first 2400…but we will get there!

PSAT Prep Course: A student who started with us 11 months ago just earned a score that placed him in the 99th percentile nationwide. When he started with Westside Tutoring & Testing Services he was routinely failing exams due to test anxiety. His test anxiety is behind him now!

I hear stories like this every day. I’ve actually had parents tell me stories that brought me to tears: never during the phone call or the in-person meeting with the student and his or her parents but afterwards, when I am alone. While this video is overly dramatic, it’s barely so.I can see what a student is capable of if he or she is allowed to believe in what is possible. I have worked with scores of students with Asperger’s syndrome, ADD/ADHD (ADD is now subsumed within the ADHD “label”), dyslexia, auditory & visual processing disorders, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and more.NOTHING is impossible! And NO ONE should be allowed to define what a child is capable of. I have worked with hundreds of students who have believed the kind of “crap” (sorry) the “teacher/educator” in this video is shoveling, and it is heartrending. Far too many children are made to believe they are “less than!”If you’ve followed my posts here, then you know how I feel about those “merchants of failure.” Please, don’t take this the wrong way: there are many incredibly dedicated and loving educators out there, but it only takes one to destroy a child’s self-esteem. It only takes one “educator” who is more interested in winning a personality conflict with a child than convincing the very same child of what is possible to destroy that young person’s self-image and, quite possibly, his or her future.I love my students—“my kids.” I’ve worked with children who had never earned an A or a B in their lives before working with me. I’ve watched the very same students graduate from high school with honors, graduate from college, and more than a few enter graduate school and move on from there: now living wonderful lives. I’ve worked with students who fought their way back from catastrophic brain injury (TBI) more than once. I’ve worked with an incredible young student who was suffering from a debilitating depression after watching that student’s best friend perish right in front of him. That young man has since graduated from college and is now working as a successful consultant.I could go on for pages, sharing stories about children who’ve overcome obstacles that most teachers thought were impossible to surmount. It doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen—and it happens time and time again. Young people are willing to do just anything for someone who believes in them, demonstrates love, respect, and kindness for them, and shows them that—no matter what—you won’t quit on them along the way.Children are our most precious resource. We are all human, but if we show “our kids” that we will do everything in our power to help them achieve what they want to achieve, there’s nothing they won’t do to get there! This video is difficult to watch, but it’s well worth the few minutes it takes to do-so.Published on Apr 18, 2021“Based on inspiring true events, this cruel teacher humiliates Logan, an ambitious student with ADHD. When he threatens the boy’s future, Logan’s mother breaks down and pleads with her son… Until an unexpected stranger steps in and does the impossible.”Professor Z440-821-7018 (mobile)PS, please forgive the choppy phrasing & the grammar. Happy Easter to the Westside Tutoring & Testing Services Family!I wrote this blog post several years ago (2015). Six years later and it is still the most popular post on the Westside Tutoring & Testing Services' website. I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of students over the years, and behind every student is an incredible Mom and an equally incredible Dad (caps are intentional).I will share the post about Moms on Mother's Day, complete with an essay I wrote while in the fourth grade at the Roeper School, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. As you already know, Moms are awesome.Professor Z440-821-7018 (mobile) ... See MoreSee Less
