Prepare to achieve your best score on the SAT Critical Reading and Writing test
The nation’s most widely used college admissions test, the SAT, not only measures your academic preparedness for college – it also gives you the opportunity to show that you can place out of certain college courses, connects you to scholarship opportunities, and provides a chance for you to learn more about your academic strengths and weaknesses.
The SAT Critical Reading portion tests your skill level and ability to read and understand written English, which requires a high vocabulary level. These tests will show if you are at a level needed to make the most of college or university courses.
The SAT Critical Reading test has two separate question types: Sentence Completion and Reading Comprehension.
The Westside Tutoring & Testing Services SAT Test Preparation Course will prepare you for this section by expanding your vocabulary and showing you how to compare and contrast passages.
The SAT Writing portion tests your writing skills in two ways. The first is the essay, for which you must write a persuasive point of view on an assigned prompt/topic.
The second section of the SAT Writing portion tests your grammar. The questions are multiple-choice and divided into three types:
- Identifying Sentence Errors
- Improving Sentences, and
- Improving Paragraphs
