How does one decide who to single out for praise when every student is exceptional?
I wrestle with the same question every year. In fact, this is the first year in thirty-eight that I am publically recognizing four students who I consider to be the best-of-the-best. These students are truly exceptional: bright, energetic, personable, highly motivated, and extremely competitive. I couldn’t ask for a more interesting group of young people, and I am proud of each and every one of them.
I also proud of all of the others I have worked with, this year and over the past several years. Indeed, I will be recognizing many of them over the next several weeks.
This has been an amazing year, a year filled with wonderful moments. I am fortunate to have played a small part in my students’ academic lives, and I will be forever grateful for the experience.
